Nepal
Suryamukhi is a handicraft income-generating social
organization which supports women from low-income urban and rural families. Women 16 years and older are given vocational training in sewing, knitting and embroidery. They produce beautiful cloth dolls, puppets, and aprons with high quality material and workmanship. Suryamukhi also donates to their parent organization, CHILDREN-Nepal. While offering healthcare and schooling to these women and their children, CHILDREN-Nepal also provides for children living on the margins of society who are without clothing, primary education, stable families and healthcare. CHILDREN-Nepal has a center where children can come and receive this extra support.  Children-Nepal has stepped up nationally and has become a leader in facilitating social work to people in need.

This cooperative has earned certification from the World Fair Trade Organization.
